Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 Plus and Galaxy M40 feature Samsung’s new Infinity-O display. To avoid notch, Samsung introduced laser cut punch hole in display to accommodate front facing camera. This provide true edge to edge screen for immersive viewing experience. Every one will not like the punch hole display. So how to hide punch hole in Galaxy S10 and Galaxy M40?
Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e has a small single punch hole. Whereas Galaxy S10 Plus has two punch holes to accommodate dual front facing camera. It may be annoying for some people to look at it. So if you want classical look, Samsung provides option to hide the hole punch with digital black strip. However, you will lose the screen real estate.
Steps to hide punch hole in Galaxy S10 and Galaxy M40
If you are fine to compromise on little bit of screen to avoid the camera cutout, the you can follow these step by step procedure.
- Go to Settings>>Display>>Full Screen Apps.
- First option is “Hide front camera.” If you turn on, then black bar to top of the screen will appear.
- This effectively hides the hole punch.
- You can disable it to bring back the hole punch on screen.
You can select the app specific level full screen mode. That is you can choose which app you want to unhide hole punch and which app you want to hide the punch hole.
Disguise the punch hole with creative wall papers
There are many creative wallpapers available which blinds the punch hole on display. You can find many such wall papers online.
Hiding the punch hole in Galaxy S10 is possible. But it reduces the usable screen area. Though Samsung provides option to hide app specific full screen mode, it is still not great as other full screen phones such as OnePlus 7 Pro, Asus 6z etc.
